Sauvetage Région 02 was founded in in 1982 in St-Bruno, in the heart of the Saguenay Lac- St-Jean region.It is an organization completely composed and managed by volunteers. Our survival has been assured primarily by donations from private individuals and companies who believe in Search and Rescue’s importance.

Sauvetage Région 02 regroups around 30 volunteers, more than 20 of which have received specialized training in multiple disciplines, giving us the possibility to serve the public with forefront techniques in search and rescue and in emergency response. Volunteers who do not count their investments in time, efforts or other, whether in times of preparation or in times of crisis.

Sauvetage Région 02 is now recognized by the regional communities. Our organization can be called upon during emergency situations or during activities requiring the presence of first aid workers. Our organization is registered as an emergency intervention resource, in the emergency response plans of most of the municipalities in the Saguenay Lac St-Jean region and we also frequently cooperate with the Ministère de la Sécurité Publique and  the Sûreté du Québec.
